Day 1 - May 19, 2025
Arrival in Palermo

• Welcome to Sicily! Arrive at the Palermo International Airport. After clearing customs and collecting your luggage, we will be met and transferred to our hotel to check-in. 
  
• In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the city of Palermo (approx. 3 hrs). Palermo is brimming with magnificent architecture and lively street markets. Marvel at the top sights with our guide for a stroll through the city center, passing by churches and palaces, historic squares, and vibrant markets to experience the best of the city in just hours.
• In the evening, we’ll enjoy a 3-course welcome dinner and wine tasting 101 with our sommelier, Lesley Quinn, at our hotel’s restaurant. 
• Overnight in Palermo.

Day 2 - May 20, 2025
Visit local wineries near Palermo

• Breakfast at our hotel. 
• Today, we’ll do a full-day tour with a local guide, stopping at two local wineries to taste wines, olive oil, and typical Sicilian food products, plus we’ll have a light lunch. 
  
• Return to our hotel. Evening at leisure. 
  
• Overnight in Palermo.

Day 3 - May 21, 2025
Palermo Food Tour

• Breakfast at our hotel. 
• What better way to explore Palermo than walking down the streets and trying out local food. We’ll take a walking tour with a local guide to sample cannolo, arancino, panelle, and pasta. 
  
• This afternoon you’ll have the opportunity to hit up a local wine shop with our Sommelier, Lesley, to see what’s on offer or to spend your afternoon at leisure. 
  
• Find a local restaurant for dinner and spend your evening wandering the waterfront at your leisure. 
  
• Overnight in Palermo.

Day 4 - May 22, 2025
Palermo to Catania with winery visit

• Have breakfast at our hotel before we check out. 
• We’ll be transferred from Palermo to Catania with a stop at a local winery for a wine tasting and light lunch along the way. 
  
• Once we arrive in Catania, we’ll check-in at our hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. 
  
• Overnight in Catania.

Day 5 - May 23, 2025

Etna and winery visit 

• Start your day with breakfast at our hotel. 
• We’ll then take a full-day tour of the southern part of Etna. Mount Etna is Europe’s largest active volcano, but you don’t have to climb the mighty peak to experience the natural wonder. Experience the ancient woodlands and lava caves of Mount Etna, indulge in Sicilian-style light lunch and tasting at a local winery and explore the surrounding area.
  
• Return to our hotel. 
  
• Evening at leisure. 
  
• Overnight in Catania.

Day 7 - May 25, 2025

Taormina 

• After breakfast at our hotel, we’ll set-off on a full-day excursion to Taormina and surrounding area. 
• Optional half-day boat tour on the Taormina coast (6.5 hours) to see the Bay of Giardini Naxos and Capo Taormina where we will stop to swim and view the Grotta del Giorno. We’ll then tour the bay of Isola Bella and see the Grotta Azzurra (from the outside). We’ll visit the small bay of Mazzarò and stop for a second swimming stop in the Bay of Spisone. Our tour will end at Giardini Naxo, where we will transfer from the boat to land by dinghy, have lunch on your own, and then take our coach back to Catania.

Day 8 - May 26, 2025

Catania region with winery visit 

• We’ll enjoy breakfast at our hotel before visiting a local winery for a tasting and light lunch. 
• After an afternoon at leisure, we’ll have a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Catania. 
  
• Overnight in Catania.

Day 9 - May 27, 2025

Departure

• After breakfast, take a private transfer to the airport to return to Canada or continue your adventure.
